All coaching is by qualified Masters coaches.
Our coached sessions are open to any swimmer who is a member of a Masters Club. We frequently welcome swimmers from other Melbourne clubs, and regularly welcomed swimmers from overseas countries who have been holidaying in Australia .
At present the Club has 3 official training sessions a week. These are:

- Saturday 7.15 am to 8.30 am

- Monday 7.45 pm to 9.00 pm

- Thursday 7.45 pm to 9.00 pm

There are also adult swimming sessions conducted by Aquarena on

- Tuesday and Thursday 8.30 am to 9.30 am

- Wednesday and Friday 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm

At present these sessions are conducted by Margie Moore and many Club members attend.

There are also a number of other times when club members swim together as a group.
We invite all those interesting in joining our club to come along and try before signing up as a member.

Coaching fee tickets x 10 ($35) are available from Frank Gooden, Coach. This is after paying entry to Aquarena.
Many members are also members of Aquarena as we receive a very generous discount on our Aquarena membership.

THE BASICS OF BUTTERFLY SWIMMING

Butterfly stroke should be balanced by a strong kick that has a significant propulsive contribution. Butterfly is the second least efficient of the competitive strokes. The complex nature of the stroke increases the potential for flaws in the swimmer’s technique.

THE BASICS OF BREASTSTROKE SWIMMING

Breaststroke is the least efficient of all the competitive swimming strokes, and it requires excellent ankle and lower leg rotation. The kick is essential to the efficiency of the stroke. The swimmer’s flexibility, core strength, and individual size play a part in determining his or her stroke technique.

THE BASICS OF FREESTYLE SWIMMING

Swimmers should have a balanced stroke that has sufficient trunk rotation to allow them to attain maximum distance per stroke and an early catch leading into a high stable elbow position underwater.
