Wendy Simmons has again excelled in organising the Swim For Life program.  Participation has increased and the program was run very successfully and proved popular with swimmers.

'Have your say' - Survey Results


Thank you again to the 45 members who responded to our recent “Have your say” survey.  The full report is here for your interest; pleasingly most swimmers who responded are generally happy with the club and the sessions offered. The report has been considered by the Committee and Head coach Rod, and some of the suggestions have already been taken on board with Saturday am sessions incorporating some more sprints and turns practice, plus some rotation of coaches with Sue and Rod swapping lanes every few weeks.

The State Relay Longcourse Meet held at MSAC Sat 25th August

35th Anniversary - a great night


It appeared that everyone was enjoying themselves at Doncaster Dolphins 35th Anniversary held at the Heidelberg Golf Club.  Arrival and pre dinner drinks accompanied by a musical string trio, followed by presentations, dinner and dancing to music by an enthusiastic DJ.  Oh what a night!

Dolphin of the Month - July


Frank Hayes for his performance at the recent MSV State Shortcourse.  Frank gave up his spot in the Club record breaking relay due to a shoulder injury.  Frank showed true Club commitment and sportsmanship.

Rob Knottenbelt for his performance at the Casey Seals meet.  Rob has significantly improved his 100m freestyle time.

MSV State Shortcourse


14 members competed at the recent State shortcourse meet at MSAC on 15th July.  A number of individual and relay Club Records were broken.  Click on: Results and scroll down to Doncaster Dolphins.

Casey Seals swim meet


A group of Dolphins contributed to the Casey Seals swim meet on Saturday 17th June.  Notable performances were Rod Clarke, Dee Sheffrin and Dorothy Dickey 1st;  Megan Botha, Anna Amiet, Frank Hayes and Rob Knottenbelt 2nd and Sue Harbottle tied for 2nd; Robyn Gillespie 3rd.

Dolphin of the month - May


Daniel Blakemore was awarded Dolphin of the Month for May.  Daniel demonstrated great team rallying and support as well as a significant personal contribution to the MS Mega swim.

Club Captain's Report

The swimming was held at the HBF stadium which used to be called Challenge stadium.  Doncaster Dolphins competed there 10 years ago at the 2008 FINA World Championships.

The long course Championships were held at MSAC on 8th April and Doncaster Dolphins were represented by 20 competitors.

The Roughies rematch comp on March 24th drew three Dolphins participants - Bob Patterson, Dee Sheffrin, Megan Botha and Brian Walsh was one of the officials.
