We train weekly at the Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre in the 50 metre heated outdoor pool, which is open year round in all weather conditions.
The Club offers 3 coached training sessions a week:
Monday 6.30pm to 7.45pm
Thursday 6.30pm to 7.45pm
Saturday 8.30am to 10.00am
All coaching is by a qualified Masters coach. Generally, 20 to 40 Dolphins attend each training session. Our club is comprised of swimmers of varying abilities and goals, with swimmers divided into lanes based on their ability. (NOTE: We are not an adult 'learn to swim' club).
Members are not required to book, once you have pre-purchased a training ticket simply turn up to a training session. Members can attend the sessions that suit them best.
The club also runs swim clinics outside of the regular sessions to help swimmers improve specific skills such as turns, dive starts, relays, short course (25m) racing and different swim forms (e.g., breaststroke, fly).
There are other times when club members swim together, such as the Aquanauts group sessions booked through Aquarena.
Our coached sessions are open to any swimmer who is a member of a Masters Club. Feel free to contact us if you would like to join a training session.
In addition to your annual membership fee, the Dolphins' training sessions cost $5.00 per coached session. This fee helps cover the costs of paying our coaches and other overheads. Rather than paying cash each time, the club has a system of prepaid swim tickets.
To purchase a ticket, make an electronic funds transfer of $50.00 for 10 sessions (or $100.00 for 20 sessions) to the club's bank account, and collect a new ticket from the plastic tub located on the pool deck (during training sessions). Punch or mark your ticket every time you swim to track your sessions. Tickets are non-refundable.

Training sessions usually involve the use of equipment such as fins, paddles, a pull buoy and a kickboard. Note: You can use a pull buoy as a kickboard if you don't have one. If you're thinking of trying out and don't have equipment that's ok, you can borrow equipment for the session. Please bring your goggles and a drink bottle to training.
